VIP guests gathered at the site of our new Hospice in Bosham to celebrate a landmark moment in the construction of our new modern building. Capital Campaign Coordinator, Chloe Neilson-Hopkins, placed the final bolt to complete the steel frame of the new building.
The Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Patron of the Hospice, Denise Patterson, officially opened proceedings, taking time to reflect on the care and support over 17,000 patients and their families have received since St Wilfrid’s opened in 1987. She also took a moment to congratulate the Hospice Trustees for their vision and courage in bringing their ambition to fruition.
Chair of Trustees, Angela Wormald said: “We are so grateful to all our wonderful supporters whose generosity has got us this far. We give thanks to the local community in Bosham for their warm welcome; and to our contractors Kier and our Project Managers Baqus, for their excellent work and dedication to our new hospice. From the Hospice founders to every patient we have had the privilege to care for; they have all inspired us to continue to deliver great care and support.”
We were delighted to be joined by Kevin and Lisa Byrne, whose family foundation has pledged £300,000 to the project. Kevin and his family have challenged us all to match this pound for pound.
