Guests were blessed with glorious sunshine on Friday 30th June, for Mandy Shepherd’s one-day art exhibition at the picturesque venue of Farbridge, located in West Stoke Chichester. Everyone had a lovely day - viewing Mandy’s amazing work and socialising in the beautiful gardens with scrumptious canapés and drinks.
The very talented Mandy Shepherd hosted the one-day selling exhibition of her work in memory of her late husband Charlie, who sadly died last year under the care of the Hospice at Home team. Mandy donated 20% of all the paintings she sold, as well as painting a limited edition print that was sold by our wonderful volunteers at the event.
It truly was a marvellous day, made extra special by the overhead appearance of surprise guests – The Red Arrows! We would like to say a massive thank-you to Mandy, and everyone at Farbridge, for hosting an incredible event and for being so generous.
I arranged with Sarah and the DREAMBUILDING team to hold this exhibition as a way of saying a heartfelt thank you to St Wilfrid’s and to give me a direction and focus after the loss of my husband, Charlie, last year. Many people were very generous and gave me extraordinary support, but special mention must be made of John and Nickie at Farbridge, Chris Bateman, Jon Pope and to Covers, for helping us mount the exhibition and provide such a memorable day.
I sold 21 of the 28 paintings and over 50 prints, raising nearly £4,000 for the DREAMBUILDING campaign.
Could you be a DREAMBUILDER?
We need to raise £15.5 million to build a brand new purpose-designed Hospice – a DREAMBUILDING - to enable us to continue providing their specialist high quality care to the community. Great progress has already been made, however we still need to find the final £2.7 million, so we are asking everyone to become Dream Wheelers and help us raise the remainder.
