Cantabile and Charles Collingwood help raise over £20,000 towards our DREAMBUILDING.

Saturday 6th May saw over 100 guests gather in the stunning, private music room of Mr and Mrs Bowerman, at Champs Hill, Coldwaltham. With the lovely mild evening, guests were able to enjoy drinks and canapes while exploring the beautiful gardens with its stunning pieces of sculpture.

Guests enjoyed a four course meal created by the DREAMBUILDING team and its Committee Members. This was exceptionally well received, with many people commenting that they could not believe it had not been done by professional caterers! Nik and Sandra Westacott, owners of The Old Greenhouse, Fishbourne, and their team served guests with finesse and professionalism.

A lively auction was led by Charles Collingwood, who was unstoppable in his efforts to raise funds for our DREAMBUILDING. He set the scene perfectly; his alter ego, Brian Aldridge, coaxed the audience to dig deeper for ‘cheers’ from the audience, resulting in over £11,000 being raised in support of our new Hospice.

Cantabile, also known as the London Quartet rounded off the evening, delighting the audience with their varied a-capella repertoire.

One attendee said: “The flowers and décor were stunning, Charles Collingwood was highly entertaining and Cantabile were the perfect end to a splendid evening. It was a delight to support St Wilfrid’s new Hospice appeal and know that every penny raised would be going towards the project.”

Trustee and Chair of the DREAMDUILDING Committee, Lis Spence said: “There was a wonderful atmosphere and a great sense of goodwill and support towards the Hospice. It looks as though we are on course to have raised nearly £25,000 towards our new Hospice”

The whole event was a real team effort and could not have been the success it was, without the support of many local businesses donating a wonderful array of prizes for our auction, supplying items for the goody bags, donating food and sponsoring the programme. These included Artie's Kitchen, Brick Kiln Garden Centre, Crabtree and Evelyn, Jason Keffert Photography, and The Old Greenhouse.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported our DREAMBUILDING evening.
