VIP guests gather as St Wilfrid's Hospice launches the private phase of fundraising

On Friday 20th November, Chair of Trustees, Angela Wormald, welcomed hand-picked guests to the Assembly Room in Chichester, to launch the private phase of fundraising for St Wilfrid’s Hospice capital campaign – DREAMBUILDING.

Attendees were updated on the status of the planning application, which had received a 9-5 vote in favour from Councillors at the Planning Committee meeting on 11th November. However, due to an unforeseen turn of events, involving a request for the Secretary of State to call-in the application, the outcome was yet to be determined.

Guests were given a first look at some of the initial internal visuals for the proposed new Hospice. The footage took them on a journey from the current building in Donnington, 3 miles west, to the proposed new site on Walton Lane, Bosham. It panned around the site before showing previews of the Day Hospice, a patient bedroom and bathroom, lounge, snug and reception spaces.

Despite not knowing the outcome of the planning application, there was an excited buzz around the room and attendees were full of positivity and enthusiasm for the project.
