The first stage of St Wilfrid's project to build a new Hospice gets underway at the beginning of August, when demolition contractors will begin clearing the Oakcroft Nursery site of redundant glass houses, old out houses and an expanse of overgrown vegetation. Turning the current site from its abandoned dereliction to what will be a big open space ready for phase two!
Chief Executive, Alison Moorey said: “St Wilfrid’s Hospice is very much looking forward to becoming part of the local Bosham and Fishbourne communities and it is our aim to ensure that construction of this new facility will cause as little disruption to village life as possible. I would like to thank local residents for their patience and understanding during this time.”
Due to wildlife nesting habits, the Hospice has until the end of November to ensure the site is completely cleared. It is hoped that, providing enough money has been raised, phase two - construction - will begin in spring 2017.
