As we signed on the dotted line, securing the site for our new Hospice in Bosham, we have received a fantastic donation from a generous local trust, The F G Woodger Trust - kick-starting the private phase of fundraising for the DREAMBUILDING project.
St Wilfrid’s Chief Executive, Alison Moorey, and Chair of the Dreambuilding Project, Lis Spence, were delighted to personally accept the cheque for £775,000 from President of The F G Woodger Trust, Rosamund Champ, and Chairman, Richard Shrubb, at the newly acquired site.
Alison Moorey said: “We are overwhelmed by the Trustees’ generosity; this donation has made a really significant contribution to our fundraising. St Wilfrid’s has provided essential care and support to people with cancer and other terminal illnesses for nearly 30 years. However, we are in urgent need of a new purpose-built Hospice which can meet the growing and changing needs of patients and their families, provide greater dignity in care and help us care for even more people in their own homes.”
Lis Spence went on to say: “It is vitally important that we can demonstrate the Dreambuilding project has local support and this magnificent donation is a wonderful endorsement of our plans.”
Richard Shrubb said: “We have supported the community care provided by St Wilfrid’s Hospice over many years. It is our great pleasure to be able to contribute to the development of this vital service, investing in the provision of a brand new facility which will support the future care required by our community.”
The F G Woodger Trust was set up in 1989 by Glenister Woodger in memory of his late father. Over the years the Trust has supported many charities delivering projects which benefit residents of the Witterings and Chichester.
