A very fine Bridge Tea fundraiser

On Monday 19th September, Campaign Committee Member, Mia Tod, welcomed guests to a beautiful marquee set in the glorious grounds of her home in Boxgrove.

Bridge leader, Philippa Berry, directed the twelve hands of competitive bridge, before breaking for a delicious afternoon tea, prepared by the Exclusive Cake Shop and Vintage Tea Rooms in Chichester.

Chair of Trustees, Angela Wormald, shared details of our DREAMBUILDING campaign, which was followed by a few more hands of bridge, just for fun.

The winner of the Chicago bridge competition, Jane Boadle, was announced to a round of applause, and second and third place, Lindy Riesco and Jonathan Hooker, also received prizes.  Host, Mia, then helped to draw tickets for some lovely raffle prizes, kindly donated by local businesses including: Thornton’s, Russell’s Garden Centre Café and Brick Kiln Garden Centre.

Together with sales of raffle tickets, the whole event raised a fantastic £1,300 towards building our new Hospice.
